KOIOS Juicer

If you want to jump straight to it, here is our Top Pick.

The KOIOS Juicer is a slow masticating juicer machine, ideal for those tough-to-crack hard fruits and vegetables, such as apples and ginger root. This mechanical device separates itself from manual juicers and some centrifugal juicers for its ability to do this well and to do it without causing any damage. If you imagine a juicing machine crunching hard vegetables down to the core then you may imagine loud, bumpy, grinding noises.

This isn’t the case with the KOIOS Juicer: it operates at a mere 60db when working, which is the equivalent of a normal conversation or background music. We’re not joking!

This is a juicer machine of the highest quality. We can’t speak more highly of this one!

Complete Review of the Best Juicers for your home…

Whether it’s about taste or wanting to be healthier, juicing is a practical and delicious way to consume your 5-a-day. A win-win for your body and taste buds. Let’s be honest, you’re not going to sit down to a plate consisting of celery sticks, beetroot, chunks of ginger, three apples and some raw kale.

That would be downright weird… and quite gross to eat! Put them all in a Juicer, however, and your taste buds and body are in heaven. Juicing boosts your immune system, aids digestion and removes toxins from your body, which are great for detoxing and losing a few unwanted extra pounds.

So, if you’re sold on juicing, you’ll need a good juicer machine. Not all juicers can withstand your favorite fruits and vegetables, so it’s important to find a juicer that matches your palate or one that covers all bases. We’re going to review the best juicer machines that are available to buy, and provide you with a comprehensive Buyers Guide for you to become a juicing pro!

Meuller Austria Juicer

Pro’s

• Very fast
• Three-inch feed chute
• Easy to clean

The Mueller Austria Juicer is a centrifugal juicer machine of great retail value. Not only does the stainless steel finish make for an elegant-looking design for your kitchen, but it results in being much easier to clean. The machine itself is incredibly fast, ranging from 12000-18000 RPM based on the level of soft and hard fruits that you’re using. This is achieved using 2-speed controls, making for a simple but effective interface. The feed chute is a whopping three inches, which trust us, in the world of juicing, is the equivalent of the Grand Canyon! The Meuller Austria Juicer can then proceed to make a 16oz cup due to being larger and bulkier than many other juicing machines.

Further features include a locking bar and mechanism that holds the guard in place, which is connected to an auto shut-off switch. It even has a thermal cut-off switch to stop the machine from becoming overheated.

This is a simple but fantastic juicer, guaranteed to blend in well (excuse the pun) with any kitchen. It would be especially welcoming to any juicing beginners.

KOIOS Juicer

Pro’s:

• Quiet
• Mastication process for higher nutritional value
• Great for dealing with hard fruits and vegetables

The masticating process also makes for healthier juice: more minerals, vitamins, and enzymes are kept from being destroyed in the juicing process. It also keeps minimal oxidation, provides a lower heat build-up, less foaming, and no clogging. The mastication process also makes for tastier, more rich, flavorsome and concentrated juices.

Further features include an auger that uses slow squeeze technology to minimize oxidation and maximize nutrient content. It is easy to assemble and disassemble, and no blade or sharp parts have been used in its design, making this juicer machine incredibly safe to use.

This is a juicer machine of the highest quality. We can’t speak more highly of this one!

Omega J8006HDS

Pro’s:

• State-of-the-art juicing technology
• Mastication process for higher nutritional value
• Great for dealing with hard fruits and vegetables

At a higher price but of higher quality comes this Omega juicing machine… and machine would be the keyword to use to describe its USP. Very similar to the KOIOS Juicer, this is an incredibly powerful juicer machine that has a dual-stage juicing system. Its powerful motor ensures maximum efficiency. The Omega J8006HDS also has an automatic pulp-ejection function for continuous juicing.

Further features include its heavy-duty construction and strong auger.

Other Juicers will do the trick, but if you value a state-of-the-art juicing system then we advise you to splash the cash!

Breville JE98XL

Pro’s:

• Juicer machine of the highest quality with a powerful motor
• Easy to clean
• Three-inch feed chute

We couldn’t not include a Breville machine… their JE98XL model is a centrifugal juicer of impeccable technology. It boasts some of the other models we’ve shown’s best features such as a 3” feeder chute (KOIOS Juicer) and stainless steel design as a touch of class that makes for easy cleaning (Meuller Austria Juicer). It has a powerful 850-watt dual-speed motor for optimal juicing results. The JE98XL is very safety-conscious: it is made with an overload protection feature to prevent any unsafe operation, it has a safety locking arm and its parts are even safe to pop into your dishwasher.  This is also a great juicer if you are optimizing space in a small apartment!

Further features include the built-in froth separator, 2-speed electronic control and a unique extraction system comprised of a reinforced disc and micro-mesh filter for optimum juice and nutrient extraction.

It may lack in some areas compared to the Omega J8006HDS, part to being a centrifugal juicer, but for half the price it’s of the same state-of-the-art technology.

AICOK Juicer Machine

Pro’s:

• Compact and quiet
• Mastication process for higher nutritional value
• Great for dealing with hard fruits and vegetables

Similar to the KOIOS Juicer in appearance and price, this is a great alternative: the AICOK Juicer is also a slow masticating juicer machine that runs at 60 decibels, which too brings out the best possible nutrition and taste. Its parts are dishwasher-safe and have a juice and pulp separation function. It differs from the KOIOS Juicer, positively, in the sense that it is more compact and makes for easier cleaning. The AICOK Juicer is a basic but smart-looking design.

Further features include a reserve function to prevent clogging and a spiral system for better nutrient extraction, maximum juice yield, and minimal oxidation.

A great alternative to the KOIOS Juicer.

Buyers Guide – Find the best Juice Presser and Mixers

Don’t worry if you haven’t chosen a favorite just yet! It’s fine to have a preference from the above, or we hope at the very least to have inspired you. Go back to looking at them after this reading this. It’s important to know what to look for when buying a Juicer Machine in 2019…

Cost of Juice Pressers

For a quality juicer, a price range of $50-100 would be advised. You may find some manual juicers for less, but if you’re going to get your money’s worth and value having a juicer machine of the highest quality, then $100-300 would be a realistic range to note. We’ve included a variety of options in our review of the 5 Best Juicer Machines above.

Differences between a Masticating Juicer and a Centrifugal Juicer

Centrifugal juicers are the most common home juicing machines. Masticating juicers are a little more sophisticated and increasingly popular: whereas centrifugal juicers work by chopping fruits and vegetables into small chunks; masticating juicers do this in a more grinding fashion and then cold-press the contents through a strainer. More nutrients, vitamins, and enzymes are gained from the latter process.

Differences between Smoothies and Juices

Smoothies consist of fruits and vegetables being blended, whereas juicing machines juice. Smoothies generally have more fiber content than juices because of the pulp that isn’t discarded, but juices extract more vitamins and mineral which is their focus. Juices are likely to be slightly sweeter and less thick than smoothies.

What Fruits/Vegetables are used for Juice Pressers

Softer fruits such as mango and pineapple and softer vegetables such as spinach and cucumber are ideal for juicing. For harder fruits and vegetables, such as apples and carrots respectfully, you should buy a juicer of higher quality. Stay tuned for juicing recipe ideas…

Fruits Vegetables
Pineapple (soft) Spinach (soft)
Berries and Cherries Kale
Citrus fruits Cilantro
Melons Mint
Mangos Cucumber
Grapes Parsley
Kiwis Cabbage (hard)
Peaches Carrots
Oranges of all types Celery
Bananas Broccoli
Avocados Eggplant
Tomatoes Beetroot
Plums Fresh Ginger
Apples (hard) Fennel
Pears
Pomegranates

Note that some fruits such as bananas and avocados will need extra water due to their texture.

Best Tips for Juicing Hard Vegetables

Apples are a hard fruit, so a centrifugal juicer of poor quality or any manual juicer will not cut the mustard. Although many centrifugal juices should generally be fine, as the ones we’ve recommended are, you may find that they make for a noisier, more difficult and bumpier juicing process.

Perhaps opt for a masticating juicer machine if you especially love broccoli, apples and ginger root (as opposed to grounded ginger).

Can I use a Juicer Machine for my Detox Plan?

Absolutely positively 10,000% yes! Juicing is more-than-advised for detox plans, here’s why: juicing extracts the vitamins and minerals needed to survive and function well. Although we wouldn’t recommend consuming anything but juices, as you will have to eat solid foods too, juices are great to have in substitute for a meal and as they aid digestion.

They can be best utilized before and after fasting. Be sure to look for a juice recipe that’s specific to body cleansing and detoxing.
